AWT SUBSIDIARY TO REHABILITATE TWO HOUSING COMPLEXES IN NEW BEDFORD, MASSACHUSETTS

BRANCHBURG, N.J., March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Falcon Associates, a subsidiary of Air & Water Technologies Corporation (AMEX: AWT), has been awarded a contract by the New Bedford Housing Authority to rehabilitate the exterior of units at two of their sites. In addition to acting as general contractor, Falcon will remove asbestos and lead paint from the housing units. The contract is valued at approximately $3.7 million.
The project is scheduled to begin in June at the Brickenwood and Westlawn sites in New Bedford. The contract calls for the removal of all asbestos siding and felt paper and for all windows, doors, and related trim to be removed and treated for lead paint. Work is being planned and staged so that the units remain occupied during the project.
Falcon is currently the nation's fourth largest asbestos abatement specialist and provides complete rehabilitation services, including lead paint removal/encapsulation and demolition. Air & Water Technologies, through its operating units -- Metcalf & Eddy, Research-Cottrell, and Residuals Management -- provides a broad range of environmental services and technologies in the areas of water resource management, air pollution control, and waste-by-product disposal and reuse. The company's AWT Capital group provides services relating to the financing of environmental facilities and systems.
