AWOL arrests.

TWO privates who claim repeated bullying in their barracks forced them to go AWOL have been arrested, police said yesterday.

Privates Andre Treble and Andrew Jones, both 22, fled Buckley Barracks, near Hullavington, Wiltshire, at the beginning of last month.

A tip-off from a member of the public led to South Wales Police arresting the pair in Cwmbach, Rhondda on Tuesday afternoon. They were picked up by military police the following day and returned to their barracks.

The two privates, of 9 Regiment RLC, absconded after Pte Treble claimed he was beaten by three soldiers who then ransacked his room..
