MOUNT LAUREL, N.J., July 26 /PRNewswire/ -- AW Computer Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: AWCSA) today reported that the first pilot store to implement ATT/NCR's new UNITY point-of-sale system and AW's AWare/UNITY link to NCR-1255 cash registers is in operation.
Located in West Memphis, Ark., the store is part of the Kroger chain.
AWare/UNITY is a new AW product which links existing cash registers, such as the NCR-1255 and other popular existing models, to the UNITY system to minimize operator retraining and installation costs. UNITY is ATT/NCR's powerful new point-of-sale store system based on the open architecture concept which uses PC industry standard hardware and software. "The installation of the first AWare/UNITY system is an important milestone for AW," said Nicholas Ambrus. "We are pleased to have completed this installation on schedule with minimum disruption to store operations. We believe that this avenue into the point-of-sale market for supermarkets can yield annual revenues on the order of $4-$5 million over the next several years," he concluded.
