AVTEL COMMUNICATIONS ACQUIRES REMOTE LOJIX.

AvTel Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:AVCO) has completed the acquisition of Remote Lojix/PCSI, Inc., a privately-held, New York-based provider of system integration and local area network (LAN) services to corporate customers in the eastern United States. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

With a focus on the growing information technology needs of businesses, Remote Lojix provides desktop and network support, system integration, help desk services and the outsourcing of information technology professionals to corporations. The company has a specific emphasis on providing network services to the financial services industry.

Where appropriate, AvTel's telecom services will be introduced to Remote Lojix's existing customers. The company plans to cross-market the services provided by AvTel and Remote Lojix in new sales activities. Additionally, the company plans to extend Remote Lojix's sales presence to the Southeast and California. Further, both groups will benefit from the combination of the network of value added resellers (VARs) that AvTel and Remote Lojix currently utilize as a service and distribution channel. The acquisition of Remote Lojix is not expected to have a material impact on AvTel's operations in the near term.
