AVIALL ANNOUNCES SENIOR MANAGEMENT TEAM; MARSHALL B. TAYLOR NAMED CEO OF AVIALL, INC.

 DALLAS, Dec. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Marshall B. Taylor has been named president and chief executive officer of Aviall, Inc. (NYSE: AVL). Aviall is the leading independent provider of airline engine, component and accessories repair and is the leading distributor of aviation parts and supplies for airlines and general aviation operators. Revenues are over $1 billion.
 Most recently, Taylor was president and chief executive officer of Ryder System's aviation companies, which were spun off into a new, Dallas-based business named Aviall.
 The business units of Aviall include Aviall Dallas Engine Services, Aviall Caledonian Engine Services, Aviall Distribution, Aviall Aerospace, Aviall Accessory Services, Aviall Component Services and Inventory Locator Service (ILS).
 In addition to Taylor being named president and chief executive officer, ten individuals reporting directly to Taylor have been named. They are:
 -- Mina Brown, senior vice president and chief financial officer of Aviall and general manager of Aviall Aerospace, is responsible for Aviall's finance and MIS operations. In addition, she will maintain responsibility for Aviall Aerospace, which distributes fasteners to major aircraft OEMs and subcontractors, airlines and third-party aircraft and engine overhaul facilities. Most recently, Brown was senior vice president and general manager of the Aerospace unit, a position she had held since December 1992.
 -- Dan P. Komnenovich, named senior vice president - development of Aviall, is responsible for the operations Aviall will sell and the identification of new business opportunities that fit Aviall's mission. Most recently, Komnenovich was senior vice president - finance and development at Ryder Airline Services.
 -- John H. Nicholson, senior vice president - engine services of Aviall, is responsible for Aviall's worldwide commercial aviation engine repair and overhaul business, which includes major facilities in Dallas, at Love Field and Carter Field and at Prestwick, Scotland. Previously, he was senior vice president - engine services of Ryder Airline Services, a position he had held since June 1992.
 -- Charles M. Kienzle, senior vice president - human resources and administration of Aviall, most recently was vice president - human resources at Ryder Airline Services.
 -- R. Frank Leftwich, executive vice president - marketing of Aviall, most recently was president of Ryder Airline Services Aviation Sales and executive vice president of distribution for Ryder Airline Services.
 -- J. Doug Connolly, Aviall's senior vice president - engineering and technology, is responsible for the Technology Center at Dallas Love Field and the engine components repair facility in McAllen, Texas. Previously, he was senior vice president - engineering and technology for Ryder Airline Services, a position he held since 1991.
 -- Dennis J. Honan, senior vice president - distribution of Aviall, is responsible for Aviall's global parts distribution business which serves the aviation industry, from business aircraft operators to commercial airlines, Previously, he was vice president - distribution of Ryder Aviall.
 -- Gerry W. Bass, vice president and general manager of Aviall Accessory Services, is responsible for the Miami-based FAA repair station that overhauls more than 3,500 hydraulic, electronic, pneumatic and electromechanical accessories. Since 1990 he served as general manager of Ryder Airline Services' Accessories unit.
 -- Eric E. Anderson, president of Inventory Locator Service, based in Memphis, Tenn., has been president since June 1993. Previously, he was executive vice president of ILS, a position he held since 1991.
 -- Jeffrey J. Murphy, senior vice president, secretary and general counsel for Aviall, will be relocating to Dallas from Ryder's Miami headquarters where he served as vice president, secretary and assistant general counsel.
