AVG UK, the official business partner of Grisoft, manufacturers of the range of AVG Anti-Virus software products, has introduced a new free version of its software for the Linux desktop.

According to the company, AVG Free for Linux is a commercial-grade antivirus product developed for free home use, providing virus protection for single Linux computers. The solution combines AVG Free, a free download for home users, and AVG for Linux, a commercial product for protecting Linux servers in an enterprise environment, the company claims. AVG Free for Linux can be used on a single computer and is intended for private, non-commercial use. The solution can be downloaded from
