The average price dropped 1.3 cents per gallon this week to $1.113, AAA said. Prices have not been this low since April 16 when the average price was $1.10 per gallon.
AAA's Fuel Gauge Report -- based on a nationwide spot check of gasoline stations -- was conducted for AAA by Computer Petroleum Corp. of St. Paul, Minn.
Average pump prices were lower in the Great Lakes, Southeast and Southwest but were higher in other regions.

In addition to surveying for the AAA Fuel Gauge Report, Computer Petroleum Corp. publishes the National Petroleum Price Index, which monitors more than 50,000 daily wholesale and retail gasoline prices throughout the United States and Canada.
AAA is a not-for-profit federation of 147 motor clubs with more than 1,000 offices providing its nearly 33 million members in the U.S. and Canada with travel, insurance, financial and auto-related services.
