AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRIES COMPLETES ACQUISITION OF INTEREST IN LARGEST INTERIOR TRIM SUPPLIER IN MEXICO

 MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Automotive Industries Holding, Inc. (NASDAQ: AIHI) today announced that it has completed its previously announced agreement to acquire a forty percent interest in Interiores Automotrices Summa, S.A. de C.V. (IASSA) of Mexico City, the interior trim systems division of Grupo Industrial Summa, S.A. de C.V.
 IASSA, headquartered in Mexico City, is the largest interior trim supplier in Mexico. Annual revenues are approximately $35 million. It currently supplies components to the Mexican plants of Ford, Chrysler, GM, Nissan and Volkswagen. Grupo Industrial Summa is a privately held company headquartered in Mexico City which specializes in automotive components including seating and interior trim for the Mexican market.
 Automotive Industries is a leading designer and manufacturer of high quality interior trim systems and blow molded plastic components principally for North American car, mini van and light truck original equipment manufacturers. Principal customers include Ford, Chrysler and General Motors, as well as several Japanese companies manufacturing automobiles in the United States. Revenues for the twelve months ended Oct. 2, 1993, totaled $328 million. The Company maintains a corporate office in Minneapolis, Minnesota and operating headquarters in Strasburg, Va.
