AUTOALLIANCE INTERNATIONAL TO PARTICIPATE IN 'TAKE OUR DAUGHTERS TO WORK DAY'

 AutoAlliance International (formerly Mazda Motor Manufacturing USA Corporation), based in Flat Rock, Mich., has a full schedule of activities planned for 80 employee daughters who will visit the plant on Wednesday, April 28 as part of the Ms. Foundation-sponsored "Take Our Daughters to Work Day." Participants include daughters aged 12-15 of AutoAlliance salaried and hourly employees on both the day and evening shifts.
 Highlights include:
 7-7:30 a.m. and 7-7:30 p.m. -- Hourly daughters will attend Wednesday communication meetings held in work locations throughout the plant.
 8-9 a.m. and 1-2 p.m. -- Female employees will talk with the girls about their jobs and what it takes to forge a career in the auto industry. Representatives include AutoAlliance Vice President of Purchasing Mary Machacek, manufacturing area leaders, and union representatives.
 9-11 a.m. and 4-6 p.m. -- Team and skill-building activities, including an introduction to the manufacturing process.
 2-4 p.m. (Day shift participants only) -- Program at AutoAlliance Fitness Center.
 In addition, daughters will have the opportunity to tour the plant and environs (scheduled for noon for day shift and 2 p.m. for afternoon shift participants) and will be eating lunch or dinner at the plant.
 Members of the media are welcome to join for any part of the program.
 AutoAlliance International is just west of Exit 29-B (Gibraltar Road) off I-75. The plant employs 3,600 people, including 3,000 hourly employees represented by the United Auto Workers. Approximately 30 percent of the workforce is female. The company, a 50-50 joint venture between Mazda Motor Corporation and Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F), produces the Mazda MX-6, Mazda 626, and Ford Probe.
