AUTO COMPANY HAS A 'BETTER IDEA' DURING HOT SPELL

ATLANTA, July 30 /PRNewswire/ -- The Atlanta Assembly Plant of Ford Motor Company is helping out during this hot spell by generating a portion of its own power.
This frees up power company electricity to air condition the equivalent of 3,000 to 4,000 homes in the Atlanta community.
Ford began the policy of generating its own power in peak-demand periods five summers ago. The cost of the Ford investment for five generators was $1.5 million.
