AURORA Systems delivers first system management automation for MQseries; MQMON for MVS provides real-time monitoring and automated problem correction.

NEWFOUNDLAND, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 18, 1995--AURORA Systems, Inc., today announced MQMON Version 1 for the MVS environment, the first system management tool that provides continuous monitoring of MQSeries resources and automatically takes corrective action when pre-defined thresholds are exceeded.

MQMON is the only product supporting network-wide MQSeries management by eliminating much of the time-consuming work of monitoring MQSeries' operational status for situations which could impact availability, determining the cause of any problems and taking corrective action. MQMON's capabilities include:

- Real-time queue monitoring detects and corrects problems

automatically. - Channel monitoring capabilities automatically verify SENDER and

RECEIVER channels are functioning correctly. Automatically moves

invalid messages to the dead letter queue, resets queue triggers

and restarts stopped channels. - A resource display facility providing fast access to all of the

information required to quickly analyze MQSeries queue, channel,

pageset and in-doubt thread problems. - Dead letter queue management facility enables messages and

information records to be displayed, re-routed and purged. - Enhanced command interface supports abbreviated MQSeries commands

and enables commands to be executed against all queues matching

specific conditions. For example, all queues which match a

naming pattern or all queues which exceeding a specified queue

"MQMON is the first and only product available which enables MQSeries users to pro-actively manage the operation, performance and availability of their production MQSeries environments," said Christine McGuffie, AURORA Systems, Marketing Director. "As organizations expand their use of MQSeries in production environments, support staffs are faced with monitoring and maintaining a growing number of queues and channels. They require solutions which automate network-wide MQSeries administration. MQMON provides them the capabilities they require."

"As a service provider we are committed to providing customers a highly reliable MQSeries based trading system," said Gil Torres, Bear Stearns, Associate Director. "We felt that insuring our ability to meet this commitment would require a MQSeries monitor with automated facilities to help maintain MQSeries' efficiency and availability. Our experience has proven that MQMON helps us reliably meet our customer commitments."

"Securities Industry Automation Corporation (SIAC) provides key systems support to the New York Stock Exchange, American Stock Exchange, NSCC, and the securities industry nationwide. It is essential that our systems operate efficiently, reliably and with a very high degree of availability," said Chao Yu, SIAC, Managing Director. "Our use of MQMON enables us to automatically detect and quickly correct any MQSeries availability issues that might arise before they impact our customers' business."
