LANSING, Mich., Nov. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- The Aurora, Oldsmobile's all-new entry in the prestige luxury sedan segment, will enter the market next spring with a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price of $31,995 including a destination charge of $625.
The Aurora will face some of the toughest competitors in the American market, most of which are import brands with models priced higher than the Aurora -- Acura Legend, Infiniti J30, Lexus ES300 and Lexus GS300 -- to name a few. Even though they bring a higher price, several of these competitors can't match the Aurora's complete list of engineering features, including front-wheel drive, traction control, ABS, self-leveling suspension, dual air bags and remote keyless entry. And, of course, none are powered by a V-8 engine. Those imports powered by V-8 engines reside at the upper end of the luxury class where models such as the Infiniti Q45 and the Lexus LS400 retail for nearly $50,000.
With all of its standard equipment (see below) and a four-year/ 50,000-mile Bumper-to-Bumper plus warranty, the Aurora will compete very aggressively with those more established marques in the import luxury segment. No other car in the import luxury class offers such distinctive design, balance of spirited performance with luxurious accommodation, at such an attractive price.
Optional equipment on the Aurora includes an electric sliding sunroof; heated driver and passenger seats; V-rated tires/3.71 axle ratio; Bose Acoustimass System; and engine block heater.
