AUGUST SALES INCREASE 2.6 PERCENT FOR THE MAY DEPARTMENT STORES COMPANY
ST. LOUIS, Sept. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The May Department Stores Company today reported preliminary sales of $796.7 million for the four-week period ended Aug. 29, an increase of 2.6 percent from sales of $776.7 million during the same period last year.
