AUDIOSCIENCE ANNOUNCES NASDAQ DELISTING

MINNETONKA, Minn., June 18 /PRNewswire/ -- AudioScience, Inc. (OTC), a Minnetonka manufacturer of multi-environment PRIZM(TM) Hearing Systems, today announced that the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. has notified the company that it would be delisted from the NASDAQ Small Cap Market Listing as of today, because the company fell below the NASDAQ requirement of $2,000,000 in assets.
Doug Jensen, the president of the company, stated that, although the company was disappointed at being delisted from NASDAQ, the company's stock prices would continue to be listed in the brokers' "pink sheets" and in the "local over-the-counter" newspaper listings. Jensen noted that the company had recently made a conscious decision to establish a $2,000,000 line of credit rather than sell additional equity, as the current stock price would have resulted in significant dilution to present shareholders. Jensen stated that the company was presently engaged in discussions with various sources of equity financing and expected to complete fund raising before the end of 1993, under terms more favorable to present shareholders. At such time as the company's total assets increase, the company expects it will reapply for NASDAQ listing.
AudioScience, Inc. has designed and developed, manufactures and markets technologically advanced hearing instrument systems under the PRIZM Hearing System trademark. The PRIZM Hearing System consists of a multi-environment, dual channel hearing instrument and a dual purpose remote control.
For the user, the remote control provides the capability of adjusting the hearing instrument according to individual listening needs and the sound environment in which one finds oneself and allows the selection of up to 10 preprogrammed custom settings as compared to only one frequency response of a conventional hearing aid.
For the dispensing professional, the remote control becomes the programming tool for customizing the hearing system when a special programming key is inserted.
The AudioScience mission is to be the technology leader in the development of medical devices for audiology, otolaryngology and the hearing health care market.
