AUDIO-TECHNICA EARNS DESIGN AND ENGINEERING AWARD
 FOR NEW WIRELESS MIKE
STOW, Ohio, July 9 /PRNewswire/ -- The ATR45W, a VHF-wireless microphone system for use with video camcorders, was selected by a panel of industrial designers and engineers, design academics, and industrial design and consumer press journalists for the coveted "Design and Engineering Award '92," sponsored by the Electronic Industries Association (EIA).
Consisting of an RF transmitter and receiver, plus an omnidirectional condenser lavalier microphone, the ATR45W is said to offer superior sound quality and higher durability than other consumer wireless microphones.
"The complete system is very easy to set up and use, but with no sacrifice in sound quality," said Jackie Hebrock, director of product development for Audio-Technica U.S., Inc. "We believe the experienced video camera user who has progressed beyond 'point-and-shoot,' will appreciate the superior quality and convenience."
"We are very pleased with the design and engineering recognition implicit in earning this coveted award from the EIA," said Dorie Johnson, national sales manager for Audio-Technica, Consumer Division. The ATR45W joins the line-up of five high-value microphones currently available. "With the addition of this video-based microphone system, we are anticipating our best consumer microphone season ever," said Johnson.
The ATR45W will be available by fall, 1992 and will have a suggested retail of $239.95.
