ATRIX INTERNATIONAL LITIGATES TO PROTECT PATENT RIGHTS MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Atrix International, Inc.
(NASDAQ: ATXI) today commenced an action against Interactive Technologies, Inc., of North St. Paul, Minn., in the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. The complaint alleges that Interactive Technologies has willfully infringed United States Letter Patent number 4,086,434, which is owned by Atrix. The claims of the patent cover certain types of remote condition reporting systems utilized in such products as home security systems and remote utility meter reading systems.
Clifford Meacham, Atrix president, stated, "The patent in issue applies not only to home security systems and remote utility meter reading systems, but also the remote reporting systems now being applied to photocopying machines throughout the United States. Atrix intends to vigorously protect its rights in this patent, which we believe is a pioneer patent in the field." Atrix is represented in this litigation by a team of lawyers headed by Alan M. Anderson of the Minneapolis office of Robins, Kaplan, Miller and Ciresi. Atrix International is a worldwide supplier to field service technicians in the computer and electronics industries. The company manufactures and markets printed circuit board transport cases, vacuums for copier and laser printer maintenance and static protection products. The company is a distributor of electronic hand tools as well as a full line of instrumentation and diagnostic products. Atrix also assembles custom tool kits.
