ATM ups payouts.
Customers queued at the Alliance and Leicester's faulty cashpoint to take full advantage.
A passer-by said: "While I was there one man tried to withdraw pounds 250 and it gave him pounds 500. I only wish I was with the Alliance and Leicester."
The ATM in Torquay was completely empty by midnight Saturday.
An Alliance and Leicester spokesman could not confirm the details but said it appeared to be an isolated incident.
