ATLANTIC LOTTERY CORPORATION SELECTS NEW VIDEO LOTTERY TECHNOLOGIES, INC. SYSTEM FOR FOUR CANADIAN PROVINCES

BOZEMAN, Mont., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Video Lottery Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: VLTS), announced today that it has been selected by the Atlantic Lottery Corporation (ALC), to provide the central computer and communications systems controlling all of ALC's gaming functions, including on-line Lotto, video lottery and instant ticketing. VLT's MasterLink(TM) system will replace G-Tech's current on-line gaming system and the video system installed by VLT four years ago.
Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
The decision by ALC, which operates lotteries in the Canadian Provinces of Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, marks the first application of VLT's new MasterLink Advanced Gaming System. MasterLink is the only fully-integrated gaming system based on open systems architecture and capable of running all lottery functions. VLT's system will be tailored to meet the ALC's requirements and will be implemented over the next 12 to 18 months.
James Davey, VLT's chief executive officer, said, "With the selection of MasterLink, ALC is positioning itself at the industry's technological forefront. Tying all lottery functions together with a single system will give ALC maximum flexibility, efficiency and results. The ALC's decision will give players in these four provinces access to the most sophisticated lottery system available anywhere in the world."
ALC's decision illustrates the gaming industry's readiness and demand for next generation systems, according to Davey. "MasterLink is designed to allow customers to react to market conditions and implement changes more quickly. It allows for easy customization and expansion and gives users the ability to increase gaming revenue through enhanced control, flexibility and centralized monitoring of all lottery functions."
VLT, through its principal subsidiaries Video Lottery Consultants (VLC) and Automated Wagering International (AWI), is one of the largest providers of systems software, hardware and related services for the on- line and video lottery markets and is the leading manufacturer of video lottery terminals.
Currently, AWI provides on-line lottery services in Florida, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Minnesota, South Dakota, Montana, Washington and the Kingdom of Norway. In addition to the ALC, VLC provides video lottery products to Oregon, Louisiana, Rhode Island, Montana, South Dakota, Alberta, Saskatchewan, the Western Canada Lottery Corporation, Iceland and Australia.
