 ATLANTA WATER CHIEF NAMED BROWN AND CALDWELL VICE PRESIDENT
 ATLANTA, Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Carolyn Hardy Olsen, a respected authority on environmental engineering and program administration, has joined Brown and Caldwell as vice president in charge of the firm's municipal water program.
 As a member of the company's senior management team, Olsen will oversee the water program nationwide while maintaining a regional presence in the southeastern United States. She will also serve as regional manager for wastewater work in the Southeast.

 Olsen brings broad professional experience and technical leadership to the company. She comes to Brown and Caldwell from a successful term as commissioner of the city of Atlanta's Department of Water and Pollution Control where she has served since 1986. Her career has included work with major governmental jurisdictions, a state environmental protection agency, and an environmental consulting firm.
 At the city of Atlanta, Olsen oversaw virtually all functions and activities concerning water and wastewater for the Atlanta service area. She was responsible for the treatment and distribution of 120 million gallons per day (mgd) of potable water, treatment of 160 mgd of wastewater and initiated the city's long-range water resources and water conservation programs.
 A technical leader, Olsen is a director-at-large for the Water Environment Federation, a member of the National Drinking Water Advisory Council and an executive board director of the American Water Works Association's Water for People.
 She has served on some of environmental engineering's most prestigious boards and committees including the American Academy of Environmental Engineers as a member of the board of trustees, the Association Metropolitan Sewerage Agency as a member of the board of directors, the Association Metropolitan Water Agency as a member of the board of directors and Water Quality 2000 as a steering committee member.
 Olsen is a graduate of the University of Wyoming where she received a bachelor of science in civil engineering and Southern Illinois University where she received a master's degree in environmental engineering.
 Providing environmental consulting to government and industry for 45 years, Brown and Caldwell is recognized nationally for its expertise in sanitary engineering. The company provides a full array of services including: water and wastewater consulting, hazardous materials consulting, and solid waste management, as well as construction management and support services. Based in Pleasant Hill, Calif., Brown and Caldwell operates 19 offices nationwide, numerous field offices, three laboratories in California and has more than 950 employees.
