ATLANTA BUSINESSMAN NAMED QUICK PRINTING'S MAN OF THE YEAR

ATLANTA, Nov. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Hal Collins, president and founder of the Franklin's Systems, Inc. printing franchise, has been named Man of the Year by Quick Printing Magazine.
The honor places him on an elite list of industry experts who have been recipients of the award, including chief executives of some of the best-known names in the quick printing business.
Franklin's Systems, Inc., is the parent company for Franklin's Printing(asterisk)Copies(asterisk)Graphics Centers, a 100-store chain in the United States and Canada. Gross revenues for the chain totaled $26 million in 1992.
Collins and his wife, Jeanne, started the business with a single store in Atlanta in 1971. By 1976, they had six stores, and the first Franklin's franchise opened the following year. The Collins family still operates three retail stores in the Atlanta area, including one that is two doors from its original location.
Major expansion is set for 1994. Twelve new stores are planned in three states. In addition, smaller and superstore versions of the regular store will debut, making Franklin's the first printing franchise to offer a modular, build-as-you-grow option.
