ATL VICE PRESIDENT APPOINTED FOR ASIA PACIFIC, LATIN AMERICA, AUSTRALIA AND CANADA OPERATIONS

 BOTHELL, Wash., March 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Dennis C. Fill, chairman and chief executive officer of Advanced Technology Laboratories Inc. (ATL) (NASDAQ: ATLI), announced today that the board of directors has named Kevin M. Goodwin vice president and general manager of the company's international operations in Asia Pacific, Latin America, Australia and Canada (APLAC).
 "APLAC represents the fastest-growing segment of our business and now accounts for a significant percentage of our revenues," Fill said. "This appointment recognizes the performance and leadership of Mr. Goodwin in developing this major important area of opportunity and the priority we place upon these markets."
 Employed by ATL as a sales representative in 1986, Goodwin has served in positions of increasing responsibility for the company, most recently as director of APLAC.
 Prior to ATL, Goodwin worked for American Hospital Supply Corp. and Picker International. Goodwin received his B.A. in Business Administration from Monmouth College of Illinois.
 ATL is headquartered in Bothell and is a worldwide leader in the development, manufacture, marketing and service of medical ultrasound systems. The company achieved 1992 revenues of $324 million and employs over 2,000 people at locations throughout the world.
