ATL ANNOUNCES COURT DECISION

 ATL ANNOUNCES COURT DECISION
BOTHELL, Wash., Nov. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Advanced Technology

Laboratories Inc. (ATL) (NASDAQ-NMS: ATLI) announced that a California district court judge has granted a motion by SRI International Inc. (SRI) requesting partial summary judgment on a patent infringement claim on an electrical circuit alleged to be used in the Ultramark(R) 4 system. The electrical circuit in dispute is not used in the company's digital Ultramark 9 product line.
The case, seeking damages and injunctive relief, was filed July 15, 1991, in the Northern District of California and previously reported in the company's 1991 second-quarter Form 10-Q filed Aug. 8, 1991. A trial to determine damages is scheduled for Dec. 1, 1992. The company will appeal these decisions as soon as possible. ATL management continues to believe that the SRI patent is invalid based in part on two prior patents issued to other companies that had expired. ATL believes its defenses are meritorious and will vigorously pursue its rights in the appellate court.
ATL, with headquarters in Bothell, Wash., is a worldwide leader in the development, manufacture and distribution of diagnostic ultrasound systems.
