ATHLETICS: Midlands title success for Leamington Under-17 women's team.
Natalie Bass (19-30) finished third, and seventh overall in the combined under-17 and under-20 race, in the final round at Northampton's Abingdon Park, Northampton with Nawal Naji (21-01) sixth and Jade Holt (21-27) tenth to put Leamington well clear of Northampton Phoenix on the day and decisive winners of the series, 61 points to 122.
Tipton Harriers (154) took third place overall ahead of Telford (158).
Bass and Naji took the overall individual silver and bronze medals behind Lisa Knight (Cannock & Stafford).
Leamington's Ros Holmes was 24th under-20 on the day and Susie Tawney finished 33rd in the senior race.
Coventry Godiva's veterans emerged from the series with considerable credit, finishing in pole position overall in a close-fought tussle team competition with Royal Sutton Coldfield who pipped Godiva on the day.
Jayne Mumford came second in the overall individual event.
COVENTRY's Steve Edwards completed the Luton Marathon - the last of the year of the domestic calendar - in 3-18-40 to split Peugeot UK trio Narinder Bains, Tim Andrews (both 3-17-10) and Phil Duffy (3-51-46).
