ATHLETIC SPORTSWEAR MAKER HIND INC. NAMES FORMER QUIKSILVER EXECUTIVE TO LEAD NATIONAL SALES EFFORTS

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif., Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Steve Tully, former vice president and national sales manager for Quiksilver Inc., today was named director of sales for Hind Inc., one of the nation's leading manufacturers of athletic sportswear.
Tully, 35, who played a prominent role in Quiksilver's growth from $30 million in sales to more than $90 million in a three-year period, will oversee all of Hind's sales efforts worldwide. He will be based at the firm's headquarters in San Luis Obispo.
According to Robert Levesque, president and chief operating officer, Tully's experience in directing the sales efforts of a rapidly growing firm like Quiksilver will benefit Hind Inc., which is experiencing rapid growth throughout the United States and the world.
"Our aggressive expansion into retail markets both here and abroad continues, and it demands the attention of an experienced apparel sales veteran," said Levesque. "With Steve Tully's experience in directing sales for a rapidly growing and highly regarded apparel organization, he has the necessary background to lead our future expansion."
In addition to his administrative responsibilities at Costa Mesa- based Quiksilver, Tully also directed the launches of three new divisions -- Denim (QSD) Jr., Swim (Roxy) and the Quiksilver Ski range. He also played a key role in the company's acquisition of Pirate Surf.
Prior to Quiksilver, Tully served for two years with Ocean Pacific Sunwear Ltd. in Northern California, where he managed the firm's largest corporate account. He also served in various line sales and sales management positions with Off Shore Sportswear of Newport Beach, Calif.
Tully is a graduate of California State University, Fullerton, with a degree in communications and public relations.
Founded in 1967, Hind Inc. makes its products exclusively in the United States with manufacturing operations in San Luis Obispo; Wenatchee, Wash.; and Hugo, Okla.
