ATF debuts internet Learning Theater for gun dealers.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has created a new Internet service for gun dealers. The service includes an On Line Federal Firearms Regulations Reference Guide Learning Theater, which provides gun dealers with an interactive tool concerning transactions in a gun shop.

Using animation and narration, the learning theater examines the typical long-gun, handgun, multiple firearm, out-of-state and gun-show transactions. It also looks at straw purchases, loan and rental services and working with law enforcement.

"This online training reference guide will provide FFLs with assistance in complying with the Federal laws and regulations governing the manufacture, importation, and distribution of firearms," an ATF official said. "It will also serve as an information guide for anyone who has an interest in the laws and regulations relating to firearms."

According to the ATF, the Website is not intended to replace the Federal Firearms Regulations Reference Guide, but is designed to provide extra training for gun dealers. The new site has a link to the Federal Firearms Regulations Reference Guide and the ATF's main Website.
