AT&T WINS $26.6 MILLION NAVY SOFTWARE CONVERSION CONTRACT
GREENSBORO, N.C., Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T Federal Systems has been awarded a U.S. Navy letter contract, with a value not to exceed $26.6 million, to convert antisubmarine warfare (ASW) combat system tactical software for use with the navy's standard signal processor.
Issued by the Naval Sea Systems Command, the three-year contract calls for AT&T to convert AN/SQQ-89(V) ASW combat system tactical software for use with AT&T's Enhanced Modular Signal Processor (EMSP).
AT&T's EMSP, also known as the AN/UYS-2 signal processor, is being integrated into the AN/SQQ-89(V) ASW combat system for use aboard such surface ships as the Arleigh Burke (DDG-51) class of guided missile destroyers.
The AN/SQQ-89(V) combat system, equipped with AT&T's EMSP, provides surface ships with the ability to detect submarines. As part of the AN/SQQ-89(V) combat system, the EMSP will process signals from the ship's hull-mounted sonar and from SH-60B LAMPS MK III helicopters.
Work will be performed under the contract at AT&T's Guilford Center complex in Greensboro, N.C., and at AT&T facilities in Whippany, N.J.
