JACKSONVILLE, Fla., May 10 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T Universal Card Services Corp. today named David K. Hunt, a 23-year veteran of the credit card industry, as president and chief executive officer.
Hunt, who joined Signet Bank in 1964 and was elevated to senior executive vice president-Credit Card Business, succeeds Paul Kahn, who announced his resignation in February after leading AT&T successful move into the bank credit card business in 1990.
"David is one of the most progressive and innovative people in the card industry," said Robert Ranalli, president of AT&T Consumer Services. "He has the ability to contribute significantly to the AT&T Universal Card program."
"I'm well aware AT&T started Universal Card Services as a way of deepening its relationships with its long-distance customers," said Hunt. "That will remain our strategy -- and I will be personally committed to the continued success of the Universal Card.
"The AT&T Universal Card program will continue to focus on its competitive edge," said Hunt. "We will continue to exceed the expectations of our customers by providing them superior quality and world-class customer service."
AT&T Universal Card Services said there would be no change in day- to-day operations and that the credit card division would continue to be a critical part of AT&T's future plans.
