 AT&T REACHES TENTATIVE AGREEMENT WITH CWA AND IBEW
 WASHINGTON, July 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Bernard E. DeLury, director of


the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS), announced today that negotiators for AT&T, the Communications Workers of America, AFL-CIO, and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, AFL-CIO, have reached a tentative agreement on a new three- year collective bargaining contract.
 The parties have met almost daily since their old contract expired on May 30, 1992.
 In congratulating the parties, DeLury said: "You have achieved agreement on some very complex issues, and you have proven again that collective bargaining serves well the interests of American business and workers in resolving differences that arise." He further commended them for the professional manner in which the negotiations were conducted.
 DeLury, Assistant Director Paul Stuckenschneider and FMCS Commissioner Lynn Sylvester assisted in the negotiations which took place in Washington.
 Ratification by the CWA and IBEW will take place over the next 30 days.
 A statement by DeLury follows:
 I want to extend my most sincere commendation and congratulations to you all; AT&T - Labor Relations Vice President Bill Ketchum, President Morton Bahr of the Communications Workers of America, President Jack Barry of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, represented here today by his Executive Assistant Bob Bieritz, on the successful conclusion of your 1992 contract negotiations.
 You have achieved agreement on some very complex issues, and you have proven again that collective bargaining serves well the interests of American business and workers in resolving differences that arise.
 I wish you the very best in your continuing relationship and hope that your future efforts will be mutually beneficial to you all.
