AT&T PARADYNE ANNOUNCES AGREEMENT WITH UNITEL COMMUNICATIONS OF CANADA
 TORONTO, June 11 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T Paradyne announced today a multi-year $30 million data communications equipment sales agreement with Unitel Communications Inc. of Canada.
 Under terms of the agreement, Unitel will buy COMSPHERE(R) 3400 analog private line modems, COMSPHERE 6800 Network Management Systems, COMSPHERE 3600 DSU/CSUs and COMSPHERE 3800 software-upgradeable modems. Unitel will use these modems in its intelligent data network for Infodat, FasPac, and MACH III services. Unitel will continue to partner with AT&T Paradyne and Bell Laboratories to develop new technologies to benefit its customers.
 "We chose AT&T Paradyne equipment because of its high technical capability," said George E. Harvey, Unitel's president and chief executive officer. "The intelligent data network will further improve the quality of our services through better management of our customer's networks, right down to the desktop, through faster fault isolation and circuit restoration. Now we can implement new features, responding instantly to our customers' requirements."
 AT&T Paradyne's Chief Operating Officer Roger Dorf said that "the true winners will be Unitel's customers. This agreement demonstrates commitment to customer service by two world-class companies."
 Unitel Communications Inc. is Canada's national telecommunications facilities-based carrier with coast-to-coast fiber optic and digital microwave networks. Unitel's customers include small and large business, as well as federal and provincial governments.
 AT&T Paradyne, based in Largo, Fla., develops, manufactures and markets a full line of complementary and global data communications products.
