AT&T HOSTS CHINESE COMPANY EXECUTIVES STUDYING AMERICAN BUSINESS

SOMERSET, N.J., Jan. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Thirty-four company executives and senior managers from the People's Republic of China are currently enrolling in an intensive 40-day experiential program entitled, "China Executive Program," on the fundamentals of American business management, economics, organizational development, and marketing, beginning on January 9 to Feb. 18, 1993, at AT&T's Management and Business Education Training Center in Somerset, New Jersey.
The group, who is being sponsored by the National Administrative Bureau of State Owned Property (NABSOP) in China, is participating in courses that include classroom lectures, tour of U.S. industries, cultural exchanges, and a visit to the New York Stock Exchange. Among the group's visiting members are chief executive officers, vice presidents, and directors from some of China's most prestigious businesses and governmental agencies.
AT&T International, who has sponsored other visiting Chinese business leaders, has received outstanding reviews from past participants of the program. As a direct result of these successful business and cultural training programs, AT&T has gained the respect of Chinese leaders from areas all over China.
"We have utmost trust and admiration for AT&T," stated Lemin Jiang, group leader and vice-director of NABSOP. "They are a world leader in management, organizational development, and research and development. There is a great deal we can learn from AT&T."
The group's overall training experience is being enhanced by the support and participation of notable trainers, lecturers and professors from prestigious universities such as Columbia and Princeton, and from businesses such as Citibank, Boeing, the Bank of China, and AT&T.
"We assembled an outstanding team of professionals who have created a valuable and useful program for our guests from China," said Jem Li, product manager and special consultant to AT&T. "We're proud to be a part of this training program, and hope that it will aid in China's modernization."
Interviews with the visiting business leaders may be arranged in advance.
