AT&T ANNOUNCES SERVICE PROTECTION PLAN FOR
 NON-AT&T SMALL BUSINESS TELEPHONE SYSTEMS
PHILADELPHIA, April 23 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T (NYSE: T) today announced that it will maintain and service selected non-AT&T small business telephone systems.
The AT&T Service Protection Plan lets owners of certain ITT, TIE, Executone and Mitel business telephone systems customize their maintenance agreements. Customers can choose coverage from a menu of options, including variable response times, system wiring coverage, and follow-up training.
According to AT&T, some small businesses are having problems obtaining service for their phone systems, particularly older models.
"A telephone system is literally the lifeline of a small business, so fast and reliable service is crucial," said Peg Stachowski, general manager, AT&T General Business Systems. "Now, businesses can get dependable and customized service by calling AT&T."
AT&T has technicians nationwide to service these non-AT&T systems and supply the necessary parts. Customers also have access to a toll- free 24-hour hotline for technical support.
AT&T said it plans to extend the offer to include additional manufacturers' telephone equipment by the end of the year.
For more information, customers can call 800-247-7000.
