DAYTON, Ohio, Oct. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Busy people on the go who need to keep informed of general news, business news, and industry trends now have an easy, flexible way to obtain articles from leading publications with a new electronic service called PUBCITE.
Developed by AT&T Easylink Services and Mead Data Central, Inc., PUBCITE enables users of AT&T Mail to obtain timely information without having to sift through multiple screen menus, subscribe to specialized databases, or learn special search commands. PUBCITE streamlines information retrieval, providing the full text of selected articles within 24 hours via AT&T Mail.
AT&T Mail users can subscribe to the electronic table of contents for Forbes, Business Week, U.S. News and World Report, Fortune, Time, Computerworld, BYTE, CommunicationsWeek, Data Communications, Industry Week, InformationWeek, LAN Times, Network World, and UnixWorld. Information from these publications is made available to PUBCITE via Mead Data Central's NEXIS(R) service.
PUBCITE is updated as frequently as the paper-based editions. Customers simply subscribe to publications they wish to review and the table of contents is delivered to their AT&T Mail box. After scanning the lists, customers may select articles for delivery to their electronic mailboxes or fax terminals.
Because AT&T Mail can be accessed with laptop and handheld computers, PUBCITE subscriptions can follow mobile workers to locations away from the office so that they can always keep abreast of important developments.
"A key strength of PUBCITE is that it combines valuable access to timely information with AT&T Mail's ease of use," said George Cunningham, vice president of Business Development and Planning, AT&T Easylink Services.
"PUBCITE was designed as a quick and easy method for business people to obtain information from the NEXIS service without actually needing to subscribe to NEXIS," said Joe Rhyne, vice president and general manager of Business Information Services for Mead Data Central.
Versatile pricing packages for PUBCITE can be tailored to accommodate individuals and corporate accounts. Pricing for PUBCITE has two components: A subscription fee of $26 a year per publication and a fee of $4.75 per article ordered.
Persons interested in subscribing to AT&T Mail should call 800-242-6005. Existing AT&T Mail users can subscribe to PUBCITE by going online and typing the following at the command prompt: subscribe to !subscribe:pubcite.
