 AT&T'S EASYREACH(sm) 700 SERVICE NOW AVAILABLE FOR
IN-STATE AND OUT-OF-STATE CALLING IN OHIO
CHICAGO, June 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Take-it-with-you long-distance phone numbers are now a reality for Ohio consumers. AT&T's EasyReach 700 service has cleared the state regulatory process at the Public Utilities Commission, and AT&T, effective today, is offering EasyReach 700 Service for both in-state and out-of-state calling.
For $7 a month, AT&T EasyReach 700 Service offers consumers a long-distance number that's theirs as long as they remain subscribers, no matter where on the mainland United States they move or travel. The service also comes with a package of features that lets them choose which calls follow them and who pays for the calls.
The service is designed primarily for long-distance calling, and subscribers are expected to retain a local telephone number. EasyReach 700 calls will be billed at fixed per-minute prices, regardless of distance. Out-of-state rates will be 25 cents per minute during the peak calling hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and 15 cents at all other times. In-state calling rates in Ohio will be 22 cents per minute during peak time, and 14 cents at all other times.
A $10 sign-up fee will be waived for customers subscribing to EasyReach 700 Service during its introductory phase. Subscriber- selected EasyReach 700 numbers are available for a $25 one-time fee.
The service differs from standard call-forwarding offers in two ways. Subscribers can program the feature from any touch-tone phone and choose which calls follow them by assigning four-digit Personal Identification Numbers (PINs) to certain callers and then instructing the service to forward only those calls.
PINs also allow subscribers the flexibility to decide who pays for calls made to the subscriber's EasyReach 700 number. Calls made with a PIN appear on the subscriber's bill -- sorted by PIN -- and are toll-free to callers, just like those to 800 numbers.
For more information on AT&T EasyReach 700 Service consumers can call 800-245-8003.
