Neal S. Berke, research and development fellow at Grace Construction Products, W.R. Grace and Co., Cambridge, MA, has been elected chair of Committee G01 on Corrosion of Metals for ASTM International, West Conshocken, PA. Dr. Berke most recently served as vice chair of the committee. In addition to his service with ASTM, Dr. Berke has been conducting concrete durability research for more than 20 years and corrosion research for more than 25 years, on which he has written and presented more than 80 related papers.

In related news, ASTM International Committee C24 on Building Seals and Sealants has recognized Rodney C. Conn, senior scientist for Degussa Corp., Piscataway, NJ, with the Sealants Hall of Fame Award. Mr. Conn was honored for his distinguished service in the area of building seals and sealants to the industry and to C24 as well as his work as a subcommittee chair and for facilitating and streamlining subcommittee reorganization. He is a member of the Philadelphia Society.
