 ASICS AUGMENTS FOOTWEAR PUSH WITH NEW INTERNAL SALES MANAGER
 FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., March 26 /PRNewswire/ -- ASICS TIGER Corp., one of the fastest growing manufacturers in the sporting goods industry, is experiencing dynamic growth in its footwear division with a 97 percent increase in 1992 footwear sales bookings. To accompany and complement this rapid growth, ASICS has hired Michael Matranga as internal sales manager of its footwear division.
 In his new position, Matranga will be responsible for coordinating and administering regional sales reports, inventory control, developing promotional programs and forecasting footwear sales.
 "Because of the intensity at which ASICS footwear division is expanding, it is essential to pair this growth with increased staffing and an intense focus on all sales aspects," says Dennis DiDominicis, ASICS senior director, footwear division.
 "The addition of an internal footwear sales manager will enable ASICS to establish closer relationships with its sales representatives and key accounts. This, in turn, will allow ASICS more direct feedback from both buyers and consumers on its product and marketing strategies."
 During the first course of the year, Matranga will focus on developing a more coherent communication network between ASICS internal management, ASICS sales representatives and retail dealers. To further accommodate retailers, Matranga will refine ASICS footwear delivery schedules and product development.
 A graduate of San Diego State University, Matranga was a national account executive at Puma U.S.A., where he was the top sales representative in 1986. He also served as the director of sales and development at Stone American Financial Corp.
