 ASIAN GYPSY MOTH SPRAY SCHEDULE UPDATE
 The following was released today by the Washington State


Department of Agriculture:
 Accomplishments for Tuesday, April 21:
 Approximately 5,998 acres were sprayed in the first day of application in the Washington Asian gypsy moth program.
 - Block 4 (Downtown Tacoma) 906 acres, 100 percent complete
 - Block 3 (Tacoma) 3,478 acres, 94 percent complete
 - Block 8 (Port of Tacoma) 1,614 acres, 60 percent complete
 Plans for Wednesday, April 22:
 Additional aerial spraying for Asian gypsy moth is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, if weather conditions permit and helicopters are available.
 1. Finish Block 3, Tacoma, and Block 8, Port of Tacoma
 2. Spray Block 1, Spanaway area; Block 5, East Tacoma area; and
 Block 9, NE Tacoma/West Federal Way (refer to spray block
 descriptions).
 3. If spraying progresses well, helicopters are available and
 weather allows, additional blocks where spraying may begin:
 - Block 2 - South Tacoma/Larchmont/Midland: SR 512 on south,
 72nd St. E. on north, Yakima Ave. on west, Portland Ave. on
 east.
 - Block 10 - NE Federal Way: Puget Sound on north and west,
 S. 288th on north, 21st Ave. SW on west side, I-5 on east,
 Hylebos Waterway on south.
 - Block 12 - 272nd St. on north, I-5 on west, SR 167 on east,
 powerline right of way on south.
 - Block 13 - South border of Block 12 on north, SR 18 on south,
 I-5 on west to SR 167 on east.
 - Block 14 - South Federal Way: South border of Block 10 (just
 north of Panther Lake and Kitts Corner), west borders are
 east boundaries of Blocks 8 and 9, I-5 on south and east.
 Spraying begins about dawn and continues until 7 a.m. Between 7 and 9 a.m., spraying may occur only in Block 8. Spraying may resume after 9 a.m. in other blocks, conditions permitting. All spraying will be completed for the day by 11 a.m.
