ASAHI/AMERICA ACQUIRES FLUID CONTROLS COMPANY.

Asahi/America, Inc., Malden, Mass., a manufacturer of engineered, thermoplastic fluid handling systems, has acquired the Double Containment Piping business of Fluid Controls of Huntsville, Ala. The acquisition has become the Fluid Controls Division of Asahi/America. In addition to Asahi/America's Duo-Pro(R) and Poly-Flo(R) piping systems, the company assumes ownership of Fluid Controls' Fluid-Lok(tm) patent, resulting in the most comprehensive line of engineered, patent- protected, double-contained, thermoplastic piping systems available on the market.

"We are very excited about this acquisition because it solidifies Asahi's position as the industry leader in the engineering of double-containment piping," says Asahi/America CEO, Leslie B. Lewis. "Companies are increasingly realizing the importance of using engineered, double-contained piping systems, for reasons of safety and practicality. We can now offer them the most complete line of high-quality, double-contained, thermoplastic piping on the market today."

With the combined resources of the two companies, Asahi/America can offer unequaled field and technical support and low installation costs. Additionally, because both companies offer double-contained pipes of sound and superior design, customers can be certain hazardous waste and chemicals will not leak.

Asahi/America, Inc. specializes in high-purity thermoplastic fluid handling products, including filters, pipes and fittings, valves, actuators, controls and flow instrumentation. The company maintains an extensive custom fabrication department, and provides on-site consultation, supervision and training where required.
