ARY approaches IHC against imposition of fine.

ISLAMABAD -- ARY news TV channel on Tuesday approached Islamabad High Court (IHC) against penalty worth of Rs. 100000 imposed on the channel by Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) over violation of rules.

The news channel filed the petition through Ehtasham Aslam Khan Advocate praying to set aside alleged impugned order of PEMRA dated April 4.

The petitioner alleged that the decision was illegal, capricious arbitrary, void ab-initio and against the principle of natural justice.

PEMRA imposed penalty over violation of its laws when Shanila Sikandar lodged a complaint against the ARY in connection with alleged controversial statement of Dr Danish in his programme Sawal Ye Hay.
