ARTS: Musicalmix.

Byline: JOE RILEY

A NEW entertainment mix premieres in Liverpool on Monday.

Jazz `N'Jokes is the idea of musician Dave Fishel,50, who has returned to the city after 21 years inNorway.

The format, which will be up and running at the Metro in Victoria Street every week, combines humour with music.

Comics and musicians will be given an open mike spot, with continuity provided by Dave on piano,Johnny Mac on bass, and former Wookey Hollow house band leader Dave Joseph on drums.

``We believe this is the first time comedy and jazz have been brought together in this way anywhere in the north west,'' says David.

And he adds: ``My burning ambition is to help establish a Liverpool International Jazz Festival. I have a meeting shortly with Riverside MP Louise Ellman, who is also interested in the idea.''
