ARTHUR F. KINGSBURY NAMED PRESIDENT OF BPI COMMUNICATIONS, L.P.

 NEW YORK, Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- BPI Communications, L.P., a worldwide media company providing specialized publications, electronically delivered data and marketing services, announced today that Arthur F. Kingsbury assumes the title of President and Chief Operating Officer effective November 1st.
 Kingsbury became Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of BPI following the company's restructuring in December 1991. Prior to joining BPI, he held the position of Executive Vice President of Affiliated Publications, Inc., parent of the Boston Globe and now a subsidiary of the New York Times Company.
 BPI Communications publishes 18 magazines, including Billboard, The Hollywood Reporter and Adweek, and 30 annual directories. Its book division Watson-Guptill, publishes and distributes specialty books under five separate imprints. In addition to its publications the company operates three computer-based communications and information services: Billboard Information Network (BIN), Broadcast Data System (BDS), and Entertainment News Wire (ENW). BIN is an on-line information service providing critical, timely and actionable chart data to the entertainment industry; BDS uses proprietary, patented technology to monitor radio and television airplay to instantly and precisely capture everything aired; ENW provides a daily feed of all editorial from BPI's eight entertainment magazines to newspapers, television and radio stations worldwide.
 A third component of BPI operations is marketing services. Entertainment-related promotions packaged by BPI enable advertisers and promoters to reach consumers through the licensing of its copyright material and trademarks for broadcast, re-publication and retail promotion on a world-wide basis.
