ARTETA FURY OVER PORSCHE VANDALS; Rangers star's night out ruined after his luxury car is trashed Exclusive.
THUGS have trashed Rangers hero Mikel Arteta's Porsche while he was on a night out with pals.
The midfielder, 21, was ten-pin bowling with his girl friend and two friends when his pounds 85,000 sports car was vandalised.
They were inside AMF Bowling Centre in Glasgow's Elliot Street on Tuesday night when the star's 177 mph Porsche 911 Carrer a was attacked in the centre's car park.
A member of staff told how they saw pounds 35,000-a-week Arteta run out to his car after a fellow bowler told him it was being vandalised.
He said: ' 'Mik el and his pals were quietly getting on with their game when someone came in and told him about his car.
''I don't know who it was but I understand he told Mikel he had seen people vandalising it.
' 'Mik el rushed out to the car park and was really upset when he saw what had happened.
''I went out about 20 minutes later, just before midnight, and saw Mikel sitting in the driving seat.
''He looked pretty cut up. I think he was waiting for the police to come.
''Although it was really dark I saw aload of scratches all over his silver motor.
''I felt really bad for him because he had been bowling with pals, minding his own business.
''I went over to him and said I was sorry his night had been ruined.
''He told me the police had been called and asked me not to say anything. I don't think he wanted a big deal made about it.''
The worker added: ''I think these boys saw Arteta and then saw the Porsche and presumed it was his before attacking it.
''I don't think he knew them. I just think they are mindless yobs.''
Two youths, aged 16 and 18, have been reported to the procurator fiscal over the incident, polices aid last night.
Staff say they were inside the bowling alley earlier that night.
A police source said the two youths had been wearing Republic of Ireland football tops.
He added: ''The boys were seen jumping about on the top of the bonnet and scratching the paint work.''
The yobs are understood to have caused thousands of pounds worth of damage.
Staff said it was the third night in a row the Spanish midfielder had been bowling at the centre with friends, including his model girl friend Lorena Bernal, who was Miss Spain in 1999.
One worker said: ''Normally, Arteta and other celebrities who come in here are left alone.
''We have had Old Firm players in here before. There has never been any sort of trouble before.
''But on Tuesday night there was a really rowdy group in who caused a bit of trouble.
''They were pretty drunk. I think they shouted a few things at Mikel like, 'There's that Rangers b ****** ' and were glaring at him.
''Art eta just kept his head down and ignored them. He and his pals, who I think were also Spanish, just got on with their game.
Last night Arteta declined to comment on the incident.
The former Barcelona and Paris St Germ a in player moved to Rangers in July 2002.
