 ARRDA CALIFORNIA TIMESHARE DEVELOPERS CALL SPECIAL MEETING;
 TASK FORCE ASSIGNED TO MONITOR GLEN IVY INVESTIGATION
 DEL MAR, Calif., Dec. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Timeshare developer members of the American Resort and Residential Development Association (ARRDA) called a special meeting today to discuss the recent allegations against Glen Ivy. More than 30 representatives attended the meeting held at the Inn L'Auberge, affiliated with Del Mar-based Shell/Winners Circle.
 "Allegations of criminal activity or ethics violations are not tolerated by our association. Companies who are found guilty in these cases can be expelled," said ARRDA President Tom Franks who flew from Washington to meet with Glen Ivy executives. "Our priority now is to assist owners of Glen Ivy resorts and reaffirm that their ownership interests are protected."
 ARRDA Chairman Bert Blicher has appointed a special task force to examine the effects of the problems at Glen Ivy and to work with state and local officials. These efforts will be made on behalf of the high caliber companies which ARRDA and timesharing represent.
 "This is an unfortunate, but isolated, incident and should not affect other timeshare companies in California or elsewhere," said Clayton Barnes, spokesperson for the group. "Southern California is the second largest timeshare market in the world and attracts some of the industry's best. Owners should keep in mind that this incident will not affect their vacation plans."
 The American Resort and Residential Development Association is the professional association of the recreational real estate, resort and vacation ownership industry. ARRDA represents over 2,000 resorts with a customer base of 2 million families worldwide.
