 PARSIPPANY, N.J., May 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Armco Inc., a major domestic specialty steel producer and marketer, today announced the appointment of C.N. "Jay" Parr, Jr. as general manager of its Coshocton Stainless division, Coshocton, OH, effective immediately.
 Mr. Parr's promotion was announced by Robert M. Visokey, head of Armco's specialty flat-rolled steel operations, to whom he'll report. "Coshocton Stainless, with its outstanding finishing capabilities, is a key to Armco's corporate objective of becoming the industry's highest quality, lowest cost producer of specialty steels, and Jay Parr is an eminently qualified operations executive who will further enhance Coshocton's leadership role in specialty stainless strip and sheet," Mr. Visokey said.
 Mr. Parr, 45, the past year has served as director of materials management - hot band/slab sourcing for the Butler, PA-based Armco Advanced Materials Company (Armco/AMC). Prior to joining Armco/AMC, he was director of materials and facility utilization at Armco's Empire- Detroit Steel division in Mansfield, OH. He began his career there as a management trainee in 1970 after graduating from Ohio Wesleyan University, Delaware, OH, with a B.A. degree in economics. He rose through the ranks at Empire-Detroit, serving in a broad range of management and operations positions.
 Mr. Parr succeeds Dennis McGlone. Earlier this week, it was announced that Mr. McGlone would become senior vice president-commercial for all Armco specialty flat-rolled operations.
 Coshocton Stainless produces premium quality stainless steel in strip and sheet form. It is known for its production of stainless flat- rolled steels for demanding applications that require exceptional surface quality, gauge control, and ease of fabrication. Coshocton Stainless serves a broad range of automotive, consumer goods, and industrial market segments.
