 BUTLER, Pa., Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Changes in the marketing and sales organization for stainless sheet, coiled plate and flat plate products of Armco's specialty flat-rolled steels group were announced today.
 Reporting to Dennis R. Truax, vice president-marketing and sales, stainless sheet & plate, are: William D. Busko, who assumes new responsibilities as director-plate sales promotion; Gilbert L. Algier, who is named marketing manager-eastern plate; Kenneth P. Korff, who continues in his position as manager-service center marketing; Rick L. Lazzari, named as sales manager-stainless sheet and plate; and Thomas O. Long, named marketing manager-sheet and coil plate.
 In addition, reporting to Long will be Bruce M. MacFarland, who assumes the position of senior marketing specialist.
 In making the announcement, Truax said, "This organization is part of our initial step to consolidate the sales and marketing functions of Armco Advanced Materials Company and Eastern Stainless Corporation. Many of our customers currently purchase stainless products from both Armco/AMC and Eastern Stainless. Consolidating our sales efforts will position the Armco specialty flat-rolled steel group to better service the common customers for these products."
 Busko will assist in the consolidation of sales activities for the specialty flat-rolled group. As part of those activities, he will implement plate market and product training programs for the specialty flat-rolled group's sales and marketing staff. He will also assist in maintaining plate customer relationships during the transition.
 Busko joined Eastern Stainless Corporation's sales organization in 1971, following 18 years with Armco Steel in Middletown, Pa., Crucible Steel Corp. in Pittsburgh, and Diamond Carbon Co., also in Pittsburgh. He advanced to national accounts manager in 1985, and to manager- marketing in 1990. He was named general manager-sales & marketing in 1991. Busko is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a B.S. degree in business.
 Algier will assume responsibility for all of the marketing and inside sales and support staff at Eastern Stainless Corp. in Baltimore and will continue to be located there.
 Algier joined the sales organization at Eastern Stainless in 1985, as district sales manager-Atlanta. Prior to that, he had served for about 17 years with G.O. Carlson Co., reaching the position of regional sales manager. He advanced to sales manager-plate for Eastern Stainless in 1990, and to manager-field sales in 1991.
 In addition to his service center marketing responsibilities, Korff will add responsibilities for the sales of flat plate products from Eastern Stainless Corp. along with stainless sheet and coil plate. He will continue to work from his Chicago location.
 Korff joined Armco's sales organization in 1966. He progressed through various assignments until being named district sales manager in 1976. He advanced to southeastern regional sales manager in 1979, western regional sales manager later that year, and manager-field sales, stainless sheet and strip in 1988. He became manager-service center marketing for Armco/AMC in 1991. Korff is a graduate of Colorado State University with a B.S. degree in business and an M.S. in economics.
 Lazzari will have responsibility for consolidating the field sales group of Armco/AMC and Eastern Stainless to most effectively serve stainless sheet and plate customers.
 Lazzari started his Armco career in 1979 as a metallurgical engineer. He joined the commercial organization in 1983 as product specialist-stainless sheet & strip. He moved to the Coshocton Stainless Division in 1985 as product manager, advancing to market manager-specialty markets in 1988, and to national sales manager in 1991. Lazzari is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University with a B.S. degree in metallurgical engineering, and holds an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. He will relocate from the Coshocton Stainless Division to Armco/AMC in the near future.
 Long's responsibilities will be expanded to include marketing of coiled plate as well as stainless sheet.
 Long joined the Armco sales organization in 1976. He progressed through several positions, including regional sales assignments, and became a resident sales manager in 1988. He was named manager-stainless flat rolled marketing for Armco/AMC in 1991. Long is a graduate of Marshall University with a B.B.A. degree in management & marketing.
 MacFarland will have primary responsibility for developing strategies to penetrate the stainless pipe and tubing market, which is a key market for North American Stainless and Eastern Stainless.
 MacFarland joined Armco's sales organization in 1980. He advanced through various assignments including sales representative in 1983, regional sales representative in 1987, and senior regional sales representative in 1990. He was named manager-field sales for Armco/AMC in 1991. MacFarland is a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a B.S. degree in business administration.
