M2 EQUITYBITES-August 1, 2014-ARM wraps up buy of Duolog Technologies

1 August 2014 - UK microprocessors, physical intellectual property (IP) and related technology and software provider ARM Holdings plc (LON:ARM) said today it had closed its acquisition of Duolog Technologies, a design configuration and integration technology specialist serving the semiconductor industry.

Financial details were not provided.

Duolog, with headquarters in Dublin and a US base in Silicon Valley, has developed the Socrates platform that configures IP in a standardised way suitable for importing into EDA tools to perform tasks such as sub-system functional verification and validation. ARM will continue to support the Socrates licensee base, the buyer said in May when the deal was announced.

With this transaction, ARM strengthens its IP configuration and integration capability, helping ARM partners design and deploy system IP and manage increasing system on chip (SoC) integration complexity. The acquisition will also expand the company's reach for ARM CoreLink Interconnect and Controllers and CoreSight debug and trace roadmaps across the mobile, enterprise and Internet of Things (IoT) markets, it has said.
