ARK LOGIC GRAPHICS ACCELERATORS GET WINDOWS 95 COMPATIBILITY RATING

SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- ARK Logic, a newcomer to the multimedia chip market, has announced that its ARK1000PV and ARK2000PV graphics accelerator families have earned the compatibility rating with Microsoft's Windows 95(TM) operating system software. The rating, which is determined by Microsoft's Compatibility Labs in Redmond, WA, qualifies ARK Logic's product lines to use the Windows 95 logo on all of its products.

The Microsoft rating verifies that the ARK product families are compliant with the Hardware Design Guide for Microsoft Windows 95, including plug-and-play detection and support of VESA standards for monitor timing and display power management, as well as application compatibility.

Ray Lu, president of ARK Logic, said, "Achieving the Microsoft Windows 95 rating reaffirms ARK's position as the company to watch among the multimedia industry's dominant manufacturers. Customers can choose ARK graphics accelerators with the knowledge that they are specifying products that exemplify leading-edge technology and full seamless compatibility with Microsoft Windows 95."

The ARK1000PV and ARK2000PV 32-bit and 64-bit GUI accelerators provide key functions that contribute to improved system performance by accelerating 2D graphics functions common in Windows applications. The ARK1000PV and ARK2000PV support both PCI and VL bus systems designs, as well as 1-, 2-, or 4 Megabyte display memory sizes. The 64-bit ARK2000PV supports image resolutions of up to 1200 x 1600 pixels with 8- bit color (256 colors per pixel). The ARK devices can also display near photo realistic images with 24-bit color modes (16.7 million colors per pixel) at resolutions up to 800 x 600. Flicker-free displays are supported with refresh rates up to 90 Hz. ARK Logic also provides display drive software for Windows 3.1X, Windows NT, OS/2 Warp, and AutoCAD.

ARK Logic, Inc. designs the graphics accelerator integrated circuits found in business and home personal computers. ARK Logic is based in San Jose, CA. In 1995, Integrated Circuit Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: ICST) purchased a majority interest in the Company.
