ARCO OFFERS $25,000 REWARD IN SACRAMENTO GANG ATTACKS

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- ARCO is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects responsible for group assaults at two Sacramento am/pm mini markets early Sunday morning (Feb. 7), which resulted in injuries to two employees as well as looting and vandalism.
The first incident occurred around 2 a.m. at the am/pm mini market at 8100 Gerber Street when a group of some 50 youths entered the store. They attacked the cashier, breaking his arm and several ribs as they knocked him to the ground. The group then proceeded to ransack the store, turning over displays, breaking equipment, throwing bottles and looting large quantities of merchandise before fleeing the store. The employee was later taken to a hospital, where he was treated and then released.
At approximately 2:30 a.m., a group of youths assumed to be part of the same gang stormed another am/pm mini market located at 4421 Florin Road, a few miles from the first store. The am/pm employees saw the group coming and rushed to lock the doors. An altercation ensued. One employee, who was thrown to the floor, suffered bruises and contusions. The suspects then fled the store.
Anyone with information about either of these incidents should contact the Sacramento Sheriff's Department at 916-444-TEAM (or 916-444-8326).
The $25,000 reward is being offered through ARCO's Crime Deterrent Program, which since its inception in 1978 has awarded more than $2 million to individuals assisting in solving crimes committed at ARCO facilities.
