ARCO, LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS TO HOST SPECIAL RALLY, YOUTH BASKETBALL GAME, THURSDAY, APRIL 15

 ARCO and the Los Angeles Clippers will host a special rally and youth basketball game on Thursday, April 15, at the L.A. Sports Arena. The event will also mark the culmination of the "Neighborhood PRIDE" program, a motivational sports program that has touched the lives of some 4,000 inner-city kids.
 Neighborhood PRIDE is a citywide parks improvement program sponsored jointly by ARCO Products Co. and the Clippers. The program, developed after the civic unrest last spring, has included: renovation of 33 basketball courts at 21 inner-city playgrounds run by the L.A. Department of Recreation and Parks; a series of 26 instructional basketball clinics developed with a special motivational message for the youths who play at those parks; and creation of the citywide youth basketball tournament.
 WHAT: Neighborhood PRIDE/Stay-in-School Jam, including a youth basketball tournament and the PRIDE celebration rally -- with entertainment provided by Clippers players, TV stars Kadeem Hardison and Darryl Bell (of NBC's "A Different World"), and music groups.
 WHEN: Thursday, April 15
 Media Reception/Clipper Club -- 5 p.m.
 PRIDE Rally/L.A. Sports Arena -- 6 p.m.
 WHERE: Members of the media should park in the VIP lot off of Hoover Street and proceed to sign-in table at south entrance to the sports arena.
