 ARCH PETROLEUM ANNOUNCES ADDITION TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS
 FORT WORTH, Texas, June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Arch Petroleum Inc. (NASDAQ: ARCH) announced today that Richard O. "Dick" Harris had accepted a seat on its board of directors, effective immediately.
 Harris, 64, resides in Amarillo, Texas. His business career has included 33 years in banking and 10 years in the oil and gas drilling industry.
 A native of Wichita Falls, Texas, Harris received a BBA degree from the University of Texas (Austin) in 1949. While attending the school, he became a four-time All Southwest Conference football player, joining Bobby Layne and Doak Walker as the only lineman in an exclusive club. Harris was named to All American teams in 1947 and 1948, and he was co-captain with Tom Landry of the 1948 Longhorn team. He has been inducted into the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame as well as the University of Texas Hall of Fame.
 After graduation, he returned to Wichita Falls to work in the family oil and gas drilling business for 10 years, holding various positions as he learned the industry. Harris then entered banking at the First National Bank of Wichita Falls. He later became president of the American National Bank at Amarillo, Texas and president and chairman of the American National Bank at Austin, Texas before returning to Amarillo to become president of the Bank of the Southwest, joining an investor group to acquire the bank. After the bank was sold in 1980, he spent the last 10 years of his banking career as senior vice president at the First National Bank of Amarillo.
 Harris is the past president of the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce and the past president and chairman of the Texas Good Roads Association. He currently serves as a County Commissioner of Potter County, Texas and is the chairman of the board of the Red River Authority, a state agency. Additionally, he serves on the board of the Scott & White Brindley Foundation, the patron of Scott & White Hospital located in Temple, Texas.
 Arch Petroleum Inc. is an independent oil and gas exploration and production company headquartered in Fort Worth, with interests in producing properties in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana and North Dakota. Arch Production Company is its wholly owned subsidiary.
