ARCH CRAWFORD NAMED NO. 1 LONG TERM STOCK MARKET TIMER OF 1992

NEW YORK, Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Arch Crawford, editor/publisher of Crawford Perspectives has just been named No. 1 Long Term Timer of the Year by Timer Digest, an independent rating service in Greenwich, Conn. Crawford was measured for accuracy in predicting the Standard & Poor's 500 Stock Average in a field of 98 most popular stock market newsletters over the last 24 month (2-year) period. The most unusual feature of his work is that Crawford uses a combination of Technical Market Analysis augmented by his unique Planetary Cycles analysis.
Here is a paragraph from the January issue of Crawford Perspectives:
Astronomically, we have one of the nastiest days ever on Jan. 8, give or take a day. The Full Moon is conjunct Mars (the War god) & that incongruous pair opposes a triple conjunction of Sun-Neptune-Uranus. Revolution, Surprise Raids, Bloodthirsty Massacres, Bitter Struggles over Religion and Territory, Politics and just plain Mean Spiritedness. Ideals run amok! All the worlds major religious teach Peace but few practice what they preach. Vehemently and Bitterly Hostile! If you with to avoid the worst of this, Hold your tongue, Drive carefully, Don't hold important meetings or negotiations, stay away from Crowds, Curtail dangerous Experiments and, Please, Don't try to send up Rockets! Sometimes we get a big News Item on these configurations that may not affect stock markets. On this one we Expect selling. Beat the rush!
"The Street's best known Astrologer" according to Barron's (5/9/88) is Arch Crawford, editor and publisher of Crawford Perspectives, who is currently holding down the No. 1 rank among the Top Ten Long Term Timers (24 month period) listed by Timer Digest of Greenwich.
Crawford's astounding market calls have led to interviews on ABC's 20/20, Good Morning America, Geraldo Rivera and Wall Street Journal Report. He was a regular' on FNN and more occasionally on the newer CNBC, with intermittent media appearances in Japan, France, Italy and Brazil. His uncanny accuracy has been high lighted in virtually every major financial publication in the U.S., Switzerland and Germany. (C.P. is available in the German language.)
On Aug. 8, 1987, Arch stated: "We pick the top for 24 August, give or take 3 days. Then a horrendous crash....So be out of everything by the 24th." August 25th marked that most important pre-crash top.
On June 30, 1990, Crawford wrote: "Expect some major catastrophe...August 2-7 as something explodes in a big way..." and "...certainly one of the most potent dates of this century. The involvement of Mars and Pluto indicate an attempt at coercion, the use of force, a powerful explosive. Venus opposing Saturn suggests heartlessness or cruelty..." Part of this quotation was printed in Barron's on July 16, 1990. On Aug. 2, Iraq invaded Kuwait.
Crawford, a former technical market analyst for Merrill Lynch, became interested in astrology when a front page article in the Wall Street Journal (1963) covered the world of Lt. Cmdr. David Williams. Williams had developed a method of predicting stock market direction on a quarter-by-quarter basis using the relative positions of the planets. His own interest in the markets had sprung from an attempt to understand cycles in the price of copper, as he had for years headed the purchasing department of Consolidated Edison in New York.
He was also intrigued with the discoveries of John Nelson, a radio propagation specialist for R.C.A. By analyzing the positions of the planets relative to the sun's surface, Nelson was able to predict the onset of sunspots and flares which would cause disruptive magnetic storms on the Earth. His input was much respected by RCA engineers and by N.A.S.A scientists who consulted him extensively during the fall of the SKYLAB satellite. Says Arch: "John would call me about unusual magnetics and shortly, stocks would drop sharply and gold would rally violently. It is a matter of history that the largest modern burst of electrons from the sun's surface coincides with the week of the Crash in 1987 an a spectacular heliocentric alignment of planets."
Years later, in the mid-1970's Crawford made a quantum leap in market prediction by recombining numerous planetary cycles derived statistically from the Dow Jones data going back to 1987. His Cycles Projection Line would very often lead the major averages into their major trends. In 1981, Dan Dorfman confirmed in his syndicated column that Crawford had been right on target nine out of ten buy and sell signals since the inception of Crawford Perspectives in 1977. With his real time record over the years firmly acknowledged, Crawford has brought astrology, with technical analysis backup, into the Modern Computer Age.
In market trading, nothing works all of the time, and future results cannot be guaranteed, but neither can the planetary pattern work be dismissed out-of-hand.
